New Mexico 3 - Albuquerque

On The Tee

The 23rd edition of Pros & Peasants - Which One Are You? will be returning to New Mexico for the first time since 2008.

Tee it high and let if fly!  Hit a few career drives as Albuquerque sits at an elevation of 5,312 feet which should add about 10% to your distances.  Join us in experiencing 5 (or 6) of the top layouts in New Mexico with each course consistently ranking among the finest public access courses the state has to offer.

Pinon Hills - sitting at # 2 by Golf Magazine, this muni course held the distinction of being the top rated under $50 course in the country for several years.  Players interested in playing this gem will want to register for the Pre-PnP "Warm-Up" Adventure.  EDIT:  re opening date has been pushed back beyond June.

The University of New Mexico - once among the top 25 public courses in the country, it now sits # 4 best in state by Golf Magazine.  The Championship Course has hosted several NCAA Championships over the years and with it situated next to the ABQ airport it sets up nicely for our opening 18.

Paako Ridge - is home to one of the most beautiful, challenging, and award-winning golf courses in the US.  Ranked by Golfweek as New Mexico's # 1 Golf Course and # 47 best you can play in America, it offers 27 holes situated 6,500 feet above sea level on the east side of the Sandia Mountains.

Black Mesa - America's Best New Course 2003, this layout is ranked among America's top 100 - and # 1 in state - by Golf Magazine.  Enjoy a majestic desert golf experience on rolling fairways through mountainous valleys and dramatic sandstone ridges.  It's been softened over the years and presents a much more playable course than it was nearly 20 years ago.

Sandia - the youngest of the courses on this list, it's # 6 on Golfweek's best in state list and is just steps away from our home away from home.  It's the longest course in NM, yet is designed for players of all skill levels.  It offers dramatic views of the Sandia Mountains and the greater Albuquerque area.

Twin Warriors - this championship layout is rated # 3 by Golf Digest.  It served as host to the 2003 and 2009 PGA Professional Championship.  In 2022, it will host the Senior PGA Professional Championship and the Women's PGA Cup. This high desert layout routes in and around 20 ancient cultural sites.  The course has beautiful grassy knolls and ridges, arroyos and eroded land features.

Cochiti - not currently on the rota, this 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Jr course is rated as high as # 4 by Golf Digest.  Located between ABQ and Black Mesa, it may be an option for those of you looking to squeeze in another 18 after playing Black Mesa.

Our base package of $1,600 includes 5 rounds of golf with cart, 5 nights lodging at Sandia Resort & Casino, opening night dinner, awards dinner, PnP swag, entry fees / prize pool and new memories.

You may customize your package to include an optional "warm-up" adventure at Pinon Hills (Tuesday/Wednesday, June 7th & 8th), additional rounds at each of the courses and an extra night at Sandia Resort.

Finally, the PnP Cup will return for a fourth year of competition.  The undefeated Pros will be led by captain Myron Griggs while the Peasants, seeking an elusive first victory, will be led by captain Jesse Sanchez.
